Honest Health is proud to share that Rob Bessler, MD, Chief Executive Officer, has been selected to serve on the new federal Healthcare Advisory Committee established by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The Healthcare Advisory Committee brings together leaders from across the healthcare system to provide expert guidance on improving, strengthening, and modernizing how care is financed and delivered. The Committee will advise HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz on policies and programs spanning Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the Health Insurance Marketplace.

Members were selected through a competitive review process that drew more than 400 nominations nationwide.

As a practicing physician, healthcare executive, and longtime advocate for value-based care, Bessler brings a perspective grounded in both clinical experience and the realities of healthcare transformation. His work with health systems and physicians across the country has focused on translating new models of care into practical strategies that improve outcomes, strengthen provider alignment, and support long-term sustainability. He was also selected to lead the working group, where he collaborates with industry leaders on efforts to strengthen and advance Medicare Advantage.

“Physicians go into medicine because they want to provide great care and make a difference for their patients,” Bessler said. “Our healthcare system should make it easier for them to do that. I’m honored to join this Committee and contribute to practical solutions that support physicians, improve outcomes, and help build a more sustainable healthcare system.”

During his two-year term, Bessler will collaborate with fellow healthcare leaders to develop non-binding recommendations on priorities including chronic disease prevention and management, safety and outcomes, administrative burden, real-time data, care for vulnerable populations, and Medicare Advantage sustainability.

The Honest Health team congratulates Rob on this appointment and looks forward to the perspective he will bring to this important national conversation.
